2nd Prime minister of India

Small of stature, simple and soft-spoken, Lal Bahadur proved to be one of the heroes of the history of India. A great general in  Gandhi's army of peaceful soldiers of freedom. He became the symbol of India's valor and self-respect.
The 106th Birth Anniversary of India’s second Prime Minister Lal Bahadur Shastri.
He was born in Moghalsarai, which is also spelt as Mughalsarai, on October 2, 1904. His parents were Sharada Prasad and Ramdulari Devi. Though his parents were Srivatsavas, Shastri dropped his caste identity in his early years. His father died when he was only a year old. His mother with the help of her father took care of the children. Lal Bahadur acquired virtues like boldness, love of adventure, patience, self-control, courtesy, and selflessness in his childhood.
He was posthumously awarded the Bharat Ratna and a memorial was built for him in Delhi. Lal Bahadur Shastri was a star of great brightness in the history of India.
