Class Report.

Mr. Soumitra Bose who is Head of Content, Digital Media, ESPN STAR SPORTS, took a 2 hours session on 29th october. He taught us about brand value, brand endorsement, damage control and celebrity management.

He also give an overview of  how to manage players and role of an agent. He asked questions to create more interest. It was a very interactive and interesting class, we are looking forward for some more classes with him in near future.

One More Day Added to my most Memorable and Cherish Moments


I never thought a day spent with underprivileged children will be so exciting and learning experience for me. I got a chance to peep in their lives, actually miserable life, if a person like me had to experience. But none had great complaints against God, infact they opened my eyes when one of them said,"God had power to make us human, and human has power to be rich or poor,therfore it is the corrupt humankind that does not let us to be rich". Such a great idealogy was definitely not expected but there is a hidden truth that humankind had degraded all the years and inequality is a product of it.
Humanity is under question that where are our ethics, values gone?
This meeting brought tears in my eyes when a girl hesitatingly shared her story in bits with me. A girl who got married when she was 8yrs old stayed with her parents untill she turned 18.But all these years her parent did not educate her ,she does not even know how to write her name. later when she came to her in- laws, she was forced to work in other houses and become an earning source. A miserable life indeed!!!
Thus people with harsh experience can better make you learn the difficult and different phases of life. At the end of my day I had great lessons to take with me.

New experience.


19th Oct, Mr. Pawan Koundal gave a chance to students to handle the CAMCORDER. Students took the shots of the college campus as taught by the sir. They also took interview of teachers. It was a new and interesting experience for students.

A remarkable rape case

A story about a Dalit girl-an exception.
A teenage girl living in Banda, Uttar Pradesh was abducted,months after losing her mother.The girls father, a farm laborer pleaded an assembalyman to find his daughter. The legislator helped rescue the girl and offered to let her live with him as his domestic help. The father agreed. He thought she will be safe there, but that did not happen unfortunately.
The legislator, Purshottam Naresh Dwivedi along with his three other men allegedly raped and beat the 17-year old girl repeatedly. The girl tried to flee, but she was caught, beaten accused of theft and was handed over to the police. The poor girl lived there for a month.
All this is not unusual when a powerful man exploit or sexually assault a women, use their money and political connections to save themselves from legal consequences.
In a place like Banda, there is hardly any chance that a poor girl will manage to get out of jail or those powerful men will be arrested. But this story turns out differently.
We live in a country where rape is considerd as a social taboo. Most of the women don't file their cases unded the pressure that how will the society react, they will be victims of public humliation and may find it difficult to find a future marriage partner.
But this 17-year old girl had courage. She both reported the abuse and stand firm to face the harassment. In addition to this many activist groups and media helped her.
After the girl was arrested her father alerted a group pf female activist who defend women from violence. The group called "Gulabi", or "Pink Sari Gang", tries to reason with abusive husbands in Uttar Pradesh's Bundelkhand district. If that does not work then, they use bamboo sticks to publically humiliate the men until they stop beating their wives, according to founder Sampat Pal Devi.
Devi visited the girl in jail and took the case. The gang protested outside the Banda jail and attracted the attention of local and national media as well as support of opposition party leadres in Banda. Eventually the girl was succesfully released.
The remarkable is that the girl had the courage to report and later face the consequences. this task would not have been called remarkable if our societies norms would have been in our favour thus encouraging justice.
This girl encourages other victimised and molested girls to face the tragedy like brave, fight for their own right and not acting cowardly by finishing off their lives forever.

NOKIA'S WINDOWS PHONE - LUMIA 800



Atlast Nokia has launched its WINDOWS phone in LONDON ,Nokia world. Nokia claims it to be authentic windows phone 7 though Samsung and HTC are already in the windows phone market from quite a long time.Critics have appreciated LUMIA 800 but beleive that it is beyond I-PHONE 4S and GALAXY NEXUS in terms of desigm and features.Sources believe that nokia will launch some more handsets following the same pattern.



Nokia launched its MEGO OPERATED -N9 in JUNE .Lumia 800 is similar to N9 in most of the aspects apart from the opertaing system. Unlike N9 which has no buttons Lumia 800 is designed with some hard buttons .

हे देवी ! देख तेरी लीला है कैसी ,
सज रहा बाज़ार है .
आ रहे ग्राहक लेने तुझको ,
और तू बिकने को तैयार है .
 
तेरी कृपा है हम सब पर ऐसी,
तू ही हमारा जीवन संसार है ,
आ गई फिर से दिवाली ,
फिर से ला रहे तुझे अपने द्वार है.

कोई कहे है ले लो लक्ष्मी १० रुपये मे ,
कोई २५ रुपये मे लक्ष्मी गणेश देने को तैयार है ,
जोर शोर से चल रहा ,
तुझे बेचने का व्यापार है.

पिछले बरस १०० रुपये का लाया था तुझको,
इस बरस ना इतना महँगा ला पाउँगा ,
रोज़ बड़ रही महंगाई देश मे ,

आज के राजा आज की कन्नी

या मनमोहन की सरकार फिसड्डी 
सुषमा का स्वर लगे सुहाना है 
जिसे देखो वो आज अन्ना का दीवाना है 

नेताओ के जेल से 
मिल रहे उनके बेल से 
वकीलों की कमाई है 
महंगाई तो  मानो सिर्फ
आम जनता के घर आई है 

जया के दर्द मे 
अमर का प्यार झलकता है 
राम जेठमलानी की बात माने तो 
नोट कांड मे सारा पैसा 
अहमद पटेल साहब का लगता है 

अनशन का जो दौर चला है 
नेत्ताओ ने की क्रमश तयारी है 
कोई करे है लोकल अनशन 
किसी का  लक्सरी अनसन औरो पर भारी है

जब ढोल बजाने बैठे प्रणब बाबु 
मानो चिदंबरम के दिन भारी है 
जहा करे है अडवाणी रथ यात्रा 
वही मोदी कर रहे प्रधानमंत्री पद की तयारी है

आज देश की CBI है 
दूर प्रदेश मे मायावती 
सांसद धनंजये सिंह को हटाई है 

आज की राजनीती 
काश जनता समझ सके तो 
भाग्य उदय हो जायेगा 
अगर अब ना समझ सकी तो 
फिर कोई ना कोई कन्नी या राजा आएगा 

आज की राजनीति 
यह परंपरा यु ही चलता जायेगा 
आज नहीं तो कल

We had a class on Sports Goods Export Promotion Council (SGEPC) by Tarun Deewan. He took a very interactive class and make us understand the topic with the help ofreat powerPoint presentation.
Firstly he taught us about SGEPC-
  • It was established in1958.
  • sponsered by Ministry of commerce GOI
  • since 2003 took over promotion of toy export
Then he gave a brief knowledge aboutthe following topics-
  • activities of SGEPC
  • sport goods sector
  • classification of sport equipments.
  • top sports goodsitemof import
  • sports equipment from India
Then he taught us marketing through Intrernational Trade Fairs which include following topics-
  • why trade  fairs?
  • advantages of group participation
  • major components of exhibition
So overall we got a great knowledge about sports equipments and its marketing by Mr.Tarun Deewan.

Writing for Business Journalism.


23 Oct 2011, Saturday, we had a class on business journalism with Mr. Aman Dhall, a senior correspondent at Economic Times. With the help of a PowerPoint presentation he taught us how to write for Business Journalism.

He taught us How:
  • To deal with numbers in a story.
  • To draw linkage and use comparisons in a corporate society.
  • To use Quotes in a story.
  • What should be the writing structure of the story.
  • Correct use of jargon.
  • Context and Perspective.
  • Colour and Detail.
  • Use of Quotes.
He also taught us that in Business Journalism we should write about PEOPLE. Corporate stories are a lot about people, their strategies etc.



Altogether it was an interesting as well as an enlightening session.

Media Ethics & Language

On 22nd October, 2011, we had a class with mr. Sanjeev Bhanawat, Professor at University of Rajasthan. He told us how language is so important in media...as the interpretion gets wrong if the wors are not used in right manner and at the right place. Also the sense and style of wrting should be ethical and not made up.

कभी जिन कदमो  से ,
चलने का प्रयास था ,
आज उन्ही कदमो पर ,
खडे होने की आश है .

ज़िन्दगी तो चल रही है ,
दौड़ाने का प्रयास है ,
खो गया हु मै कहा ,
आज को पाने की आश है .

ठोकरे खा रहा ज़िन्दगी मे ,
एक नए रास्ते की तलाश है ,
साथी तो बहुत मिले है ,
एक सच्चे साथी की आश है .

ज़िन्दगी का हर सुख ,
उस आज के पास है ,
दुःख तो  सिर्फ इस बात का है ,

Report of Class by Mr. Novy Kapadia

Mr. Novy Kapadia, a renowned personality, told about the works of a Reporter, Sub-Editor and Copy- Editor.
He also discussed about the difference between the three i.e. how a reporter must have a good foot work because he has to collect the information, duty of a sub-editor is to check the report and make necessary amendments and a copy-editor is the one who collects information from various agencies and compile a report.
He told us how the newspapers are now made reader friendly by adding graphics and photographs with an eye catchy headline.
It was an interesting class and we look forward to more sessions with him.

End of Qadhafi- Is it a new beginning for Libya?


The uprising that started in February in Libya's Tahrir Square reached its culmination with the horrifying end of its former Dictator Muammar Qadhafi.He was holding the seat of power since the last 42 years.Libya is now under the control of National Transitional Council[NTC] which in itself is a cartel of various groups of differing ideologies.
Although the despotic rule of Qadhafi has finally been eliminated but that does not guarantee the peace in the region.NTC has been supported by North Atlantic Treaty Organization[NATO] and other western nations.It is somewhat similar to what had happened in 1980's during the cold war days.Then in Afghanistan,the anti-communist regime fighting against the Communist inclined Afghan Government was also supported by the USA and its allies.That group later emerged as Taliban and became the biggest threat for USA and subsequently changed all the permutations and combinations of international relations.Right now,NTC has the support of US and its allies.Is it another Taliban in making?The answer can be very anomalous.
Also,the western nations are also eying the rich oil wells of Libya which can be of great help for them during this dwindling time when the US and various other European nations are on the threshold of bankruptcy and are facing the ire of millions of their unemployed and bewildered subjects.This quest of oil in the absence of a strong Central Government can only add to the miseries of the war-torn nation.
Internally too,various lacunaes have been emerged in Libya.Right now the Central Authority in Libya is NTC which in itself is a victim of internal frictions.This can politically destabilise the nation.This political turmoil can hinder the economic growth which will add fuel to the fire.
India too is looking forward for peace in Libya.Prevailing peace in Libya can be of utmost importance as it will ensure the smooth import of Crude Oil to India which will of great relief in this time of galloping inflation.
The Arab insurgency which got started in Tunisia and later spread to other adjoining areas is in a very crucial stage now.Pragmatic approach by the various stakeholders is the demand of the hour.

Learning ADVERTISEMENT was never this much FUN-FILLED


18TH OCTOBER 2011 ,Ist half of the web-journalism session was taken by Mr.Amanjot Singh Bedi ,who is into executive work from 16 years .
He touched a very integral part of media i.e ADVERTISING.He started from the basics of Advertising that are -
1) Identifying current problem /opportunity
2)Identifying target group
3)Creating relevant and distinctive way of communicating

In a power point presentation he led us to the world of advertising media.Through some quotations and videos he made the concerned topic coherent.With utmost patience he answered the queries of inquisitive minds.
IN ALL IT CAME OUT TO BE AN INTERESTING AND INFORMATIVE CLASS.

लीबियाई तानाशाह कर्नल गद्दाफी की मौत


त्रिपोली। लीबिया के तानाशाह मुअम्मर गद्दाफी अंतत: विरोधी फौजों के हाथ गुरुवार को मौत के घाट उतार दिए गए। मौत से पहले उन्हें गृहनगर सिर्ते के निकट पकड़ लिया गया था। लीबिया में करीब 40 सालों तक तानाशाही चलाने वाले गद्दाफी के आखिरी शब्द थे-'मुझे मत मारो।' लीबिया के टेलीविजन चैनलों ने गद्दाफी के शव के फोटो सार्वजनिक कर दिए हैं।


गद्दाफी के खिलाफ लीबिया में संघर्षरत और अब सत्ता संभालने वाली नेशनल ट्रांजिशनल काउंसिल [एनटीसी] के एक वरिष्ठ अधिकारी ने बताया कि गद्दाफी के दोनों पैरों में गोली लगी थी। इसी के परिणामस्वरूप उनकी मौत हुई। गद्दाफी को उनके गृहनगर सिर्ते के निकट जख्मी हालत में पकड़ लिया गया था। पहले एनटीसी के फील्ड कमांडर जमाल अबु शालाह ने अल-जजीरा को बताया था कि अपदस्थ तानाशाह गद्दाफी को कब्जे में कर लिया गया है। लेकिन अभी स्पष्ट नहीं हो पाया है कि वह जिंदा है या दम तोड़ चुके हैं। एनटीसी के एक वरिष्ठ सैन्य अधिकारी अब्देल माजिद का भी कहना था-'गद्दाफी को पकड़ लिया गया है। उनके दोनों पैर जख्मी हैं। एंबुलेंस से ले जाया गया है।'
माजिद ने बताया कि जिस समय गद्दाफी को पकड़ा गया, उनके सैन्य बल के कमांडर अबु बकर जब्र को मारा जा चुका था। हफ्तेभर भीषण युद्ध झेल रहे सिरते में गुरुवार को गद्दाफी के पकड़े जाने के एनटीसी के दावे के कुछ देर बाद ही उनकी मौत की खबर फैल गई। एनटीसी अधिकारियों ने बताया है कि लड़ाकों द्वारा घिर जाने के बाद गद्दाफी के आखिरी शब्द थे-'मुझे मत मारो।' गद्दाफी के चेहरे पर मौत का खौफ साफ नजर आ रहा था। नाटो और अमेरिकी विदेश विभाग ने गद्दाफी के मारे जाने की पुष्टि नहीं की है। मगर बेनगाजी शहर खुशी मनाते लोग सड़कों पर निकल आए और फायरिंग की।
विद्रोह के आठ महीने
जाहिर हो कि उत्तर अफ्रीकी देश लीबिया में गद्दाफी के खिलाफ विद्रोह की शुरुआत इसी साल 15 फरवरी को हुई थी। पहले तो लोगों ने सत्ता परिवर्तन को लेकर शांतिपूर्ण तरीके से विरोध शुरू किया। मगर विरोध को गद्दाफी ने सैन्य ताकत से कुचलना शुरू किया तो हालात बेकाबू हो गए और गृह युद्ध छिड़ गया। गद्दाफी विरोधी ताकतों ने बेनगाजी में नेशनल ट्रांजिशनल काउंसिल के नाम से सरकार कायम करने की घोषणा कर दी। इसके बाद संयुक्त राष्ट्र सुरक्षा परिषद ने हस्तक्षेप शुरू किया। गद्दाफी और उनके 10 निकट सहयोगियों की संपत्ति जब्त करने का प्रस्ताव पारित किया। सुरक्षा परिषद ने विरोधियों के खिलाफ सरकार की दमनात्मक कार्रवाई को अंतरराष्ट्रीय आपराधिक न्यायालय के लिए संदर्भित कर दिया। 27 जून को गद्दाफी की गिरफ्तारी के लिए वारंट जारी कर दिया गया। इसके बाद इंटरपोल ने भी 8 सितंबर को एक वारंट जारी किया। 19 जून को अमेरिका ने ओडिशी डान के नाम से लीबिया में कार्रवाई शुरू की और 31 मार्च को नाटो ने कार्रवाई की बागडोर खुद संभाल ली। इसके साथ ही गद्दाफी विरोधियों ने बढ़त लेनी शुरू की और 20 अक्टूबर को अंतत: गद्दाफी का खात्मा कर दिया गया।

BIGGEST WEAKNESS TURNED INTO BIGGEST STRENGTH

This is a story of a 10-year-old boy who decided to study judo despite the fact that he had lost his left arm in a devastating car accident.
The boy began lessons with an old Japanese judo master. The boy was doing well, so he couldn't understand why, after three months of training the master had taught him only one move.
"Sensei," the boy finally said, "Shouldn't I be learning more moves?"
"This is the only move you know, but this is the only move you'll ever need to know," the sensei replied.
Not quite understanding, but believing in his teacher, the boy kept training.

Several months later, the sensei took the boy to his first tournament. Surprising himself, the boy easily won his first two matches. The third match proved to be more difficult, but after some time, his opponent became impatient and charged; the boy deftly used his one move to win the match. Still amazed by his success, the boy was now in the finals.
This time, his opponent was bigger, stronger, and more experienced. For a while, the boy appeared to be over-matched. Concerned that the boy might get hurt, the referee called a time-out. He was about to stop the match when the sensei intervened.
"No," the sensei insisted, "Let him continue."

Soon after the match resumed, his opponent made a critical mistake: he dropped his guard. Instantly, the boy used his move to pin him. The boy had won the match and the tournament. He was the champion.
On the way home, the boy and sensei reviewed every move in each and every match. Then the boy summoned the courage to ask what was really on his mind.
"Sensei, how did I win the tournament with only one move?"
"You won for two reasons," the sensei answered. "First, you've almost mastered one of the most difficult throws in all of judo. And second, the only known defense for that move is for your opponent to grab your left arm."
And that is how boy's biggest weakness became his biggest strength!

तेरा वह पहेला स्पर्श ,
मेरे दिल को भा गया ,
मेरे हाथो के लकीरों पर ,
तेरा चहेरा छा गया .

तुम्हारी आंखो मे बसा प्यार ,
लब्ज़ो से सुनने को बेताब हु ,
यह स्पर्श है तुम्हारा ,
तुमसे दूर हो कर भी, तुम्हारे  बहुत पास हु .

तनहा भरी जिंदगी मे ,
एक उत्साह तुम लाई हो ,
तुम्हारे उस  मुश्कान भरे चहेरे मे , 
मानो छिपी प्यार की सच्चाई है .

एक स्पर्श है तुम्हार 
जो प्यार की परछाई है ,
हमारी  नज़र का नज़र से ना मिलना ,
शायद यही हमारे प्यार की सच्चाई है .

एक तरफ है जाने की जल्दी ,
वही दूसरी ओर आ रही तन्हाई है ,
हाथ छोरे से भी ना छुटे है ,
यह स्पर्श प्रेम की दुहाई है .

यह स्पर्श जो भी है 
पर इसमे एक गहेराई है 
ना चाह कर भी ,
हमारे दिल को करीब लाई है .


यह स्पर्श जैसा  भी हो ,
यही जीवन की सच्चाई है .

Hilarious yet knowledgeable class by Dr. Dilip Kumar


Class became more lively and energetic when Dr. Dilip Kumar took our class on 14october2011. He made the class laugh with his great Sarcasm and taught us about Communication and its various distinctions. He told us about various interesting facts one hardly knows and his great energy made the students listen to him interestingly. He taught us about Bioligical communication and several theories which enhanced our knowledge to another level.
It was really great having such an accomplished personality among us and we are looking forward for some more classes in near future..

A fun class with Mr. Kang


Mr. Kulwinder Singh Kang is Programme Executive in Prasar Bharti. We had a very mind boggling yet a very interactive and knowledgeble lecture with him. He told us how a radio commentary is quicker than viewing a match on television. He also told us that for being a good commentator we should take care of modulation, knowledge. He also motivated all of us to be a commentator. Looking forward for another interactive session with him.

THE ELEPHANT ROPE

A man was passing a group of elephants. He suddenly stopped, confused by the fact that these huge creatures were being held by only a small rope tied to their front leg. No chains, no cages! It was obvious that the elephants could, at anytime, break away from their bonds but for some reason, they did not.

He saw a trainer nearby and asked why these animals just stood there and made no attempt to get away. “Well,” the trainer said, “when they are very young and much smaller we use the same size rope to tie them and, at that age, it’s enough to hold them. As they grow up, they are conditioned to believe they cannot break away. They believe the rope can still hold them, so they never try to break free.”

The man was amazed. These animals could at any time break free from the bonds but because they believed they couldn’t, they were stuck right where they were.

Like the elephants, how many of us go through life hanging onto a belief that we cannot do something, simply because we failed at it once before?

Failure is part of learning; we should never give up the struggle in life.

Renowned ghazal singer Jagjit Singh passes away

Renowned ghazal singer Jagjit Singh, 70, passed away at 8.10 am in Lilavati Hospital on Monday morning.
Jagjit Singh was admitted to the Lilavati Hospital on September 23 after he suffered brain haemorrhage in suburban Bandra where a life-saving surgery was performed on him.

Popularly known as "The Ghazal King", he gained acclaim together with his wife in the 1970s and 1980s, as the first ever successful duo act (husband-wife) in the history of recorded Indian music.Recipient of Padma Bhushan award, he has sung in several languages including Hindi, Urdu, Punjabi and Nepali.

Credited with popularising the ghazal genre and making it accessible to the masses, Singh cut more than 40 private albums and sang for innumerable Bollywood films, influencing an entire generation of music lovers. Stirring millions of hearts with his soulful numbers 'Jhuki jhuki si nazar' and 'Kaagaz ki kashti', ghazal king Jagit Singh infused a new life in the dying genre of music in the seventies and carved a niche for himself in Bollywood.  Dussehra eve left the city's roads jammed at many places. The festive rush for Durga Puja pandals and Ramlilas around the evening rush hour resulted in traffic snarls.

Traffic police officials said the overall vehicle movement went up due to the festivities. "Many parts of the city were affected. It wasn't just the office rush but also the people coming out to celebrate.

Apple Co-founder and former CEO, Steve Jobs passes away.


Steven Paul Jobs, the visionary co-founder of Apple Inc, died on Wednesday at the age of 56. Jobs’ death was announced by Apple in a statement late on Wednesday. The apple.com homepage featured a black-and-white picture of him with the words “Steve Jobs, 1955-2011.”

“Steve’s brilliance, passion and energy were the source of countless innovations that enrich and improve all of our lives. The world is immeasurably better because of Steve.” Apple said in a statement announcing Jobs’ passing.
The Silicon Valley icon who gave the world the iPod and the iPhone had resigned as CEO of the world’s largest technology corporation in August, handling the reins to current chief executive Tim Cook.
Jobs had battled cancer in 2004 and underwent a liver transplant in 2009 after taking a leave of absence for unspecified health problems. He took another leave of absence in January, his third since health problems began and officially resigned in August.
Jobs started Apple with a high school friend in a Silicon Valley garage in 1976, was forced out a decade later and returned in 1997 to rescue the company. During his second stint, it grew into the most valuable technology company in the world.
In 2005, Jobs delivered Stanford University’s commencement speech. “Remembering that I’ll be dead soon is the most important tool I’ve ever encountered to help me make the big choices in life,” he said. “Because almost everything – all external expectations, all pride, all fear of embarrassment or failure – these things just fall away in the face of death, leaving only what is truly important.”


R.I.P. Steve Jobs

Artist, role model, innovator, life-changer. Those words popped up repeatedly on Wednesday in the outpouring of emotional responses to the death of Steve Jobs. He was a visionary co-founder of Apple who helped usher in the era of personal computers and then led a cultural transformation in the way music, movies and mobile communications were experienced in the digital age, died Wednesday. He was 56.

Jobs died of complications from pancreatic cancer, with which he waged a long and public struggle, remaining the face of the company even as he underwent treatment. He continued to introduce new products for a global market in his trademark blue jeans even as he grew gaunt and frail.

He underwent surgery in 2004, received a liver transplant in 2009 and took three medical leaves of absence as Apple’s chief executive before stepping down in August and turning over the helm to Timothy D. Cook, the chief operating officer. When he left, he was still engaged in the company’s affairs, negotiating with another Silicon Valley executive only weeks earlier.

By then, having mastered digital technology and capitalized on his intuitive marketing sense, Mr. Jobs had largely come to define the personal computer industry and an array of digital consumer and entertainment businesses centered on the Internet. He had also become a very rich man, worth an estimated $8.3 billion.

Mr. Jobs was neither a hardware engineer nor a software programmer, nor did he think of himself as a manager. He considered himself a technology leader, choosing the best people possible, encouraging and prodding them, and making the final call on product design.
