Form is Temporary, Arsenal is Permanent!

Among, the planned protests directed at Manchester United over Malcolm Glazer takeover, to the incessant rain to the 120 minutes goalless draw in about 100 years, the Gunners emerged victorious at the 5th consecutive year of game at Millennium Stadium, Cardiff: The FA Cup (2005).
The major event of consideration is, it was the last trophy Arsenal FC held its hand to.
The period of happiness, pride vanished among the Gooners, and is to be on course for another 7 years.
The only question throbbing, or more precise to be put, the anxiety filled question on every Gunner’s throat is: Will the drought end?
Let us “cinemascope” it.
Nonchalance
A period of inconsideration, laziness and inactiveness started. This period saw the club going into one of the most difficult phases of all time.
This period saw many players leaving the club, who were deemed indisputable for the cub’s success. Many of my Gooner counterparts and other football fans argued:
  • “Has the club lost its ambition?”
  • “Why is the club becoming a mid-table contender?”
  • “Is Arsene the right man?”
  • “Is Arsenal a selling club?”
  • “Is business only the motive?”
Dejected Arsenal Fans.
To all those questions above and coming, my answer at that moment was mute. Neither I could null their points, nor could I base their questions to a paramount of positive debate.
There is no disagreement that if the players had stayed, we’d made a formidable playing XI.
Arsenal FC after losing her most valuable departures, made the worst start to the Premier League in around 58 Years in the 2011-2012 season!
Adding to this, our best player and arguably the best Striker in the Barclays Premier League- Robin van Persie was let for 24 million to a direct title rival. A man who turned the season around for us was let go! A man of staggering finishes and hold-up play!
Isn’t that stupidity?
Couldn’t Wenger held onto him by giving what he asks for?
As well, we’re running the contracts down to the last year, Walcott, Sagna and even when Song had 3 years more to his contract he was sold to Barcelona.
Is this ambition?
In the AGM-2012, Le Prof arguing that a qualification to UEFA Champions League in itself would be an achievement.
A club with such achievements restricting it to qualifying to champions league its aim, is so weak.
These frustrations, questions, arguments are understandable to certain point of extent. And, I believe these are just the love for the club manifesting in the form Anger and Sadness.
The Promise
As and when the question arises, an answer needs to present itself.
  • Has the club lost its ambition?
We signed Santi Cazorla from Malaga FC, a phenomenal player rated amongst the best in BBVA Primera Liga. His performances against Spurs and City show what we got in a bargain. Giroud, top goal scorer from Ligue 1, despite the slow start to his season has wowed us with his fantastic movement across the field. Podolski, a century capped player for Germany, a proficient LW.
Yeah, I agree albeit some hiccups they have performed well adapting to the rigours of English football.
What he said about finishing in top four this season is our aim at AGM is completely logical with this squad and that doesn’t mean we’ll not in coming years. I think we can still turn it around.
That doesn’t mean we aren’t going to let go at all and go into mid-table mediocrity, we’ll comeback.
The ambition is still there, it’s only a matter of time. Believe!
  • Is Arsene the right man for the Job?
In a recent article which I read(sadly, I don’t have the links for that), a Gunner from 1968 quoted some points beautiful:
“All this talk about failures since 2006 seem short sighted to me. I started following the Gunners around 1968 and there was a long time there when that was a difficult choice. Arsenal were too inconsistent and boring, were nearly relegated in the late 70′s…We were never a European Powerhouse even when we were winning Doubles in England..From 1986 to 1995, Graham George won us 2 league titles,1 FA Cup and 2 League cups but we played sum very Boring Football.  We were the 16th richest club in Europe and UTD were catching up fast. Then came an unknown Frenchmen named Arsene. At first, everyone doubted him and in his 2nd year as manager, he won the League for us..Under Wenger, we have seen some of the best Arsenal teams in a history stretching
back more than a CENTURY. I agree that some changes need to be found but sacking Wenger seems a curious option if you remember what it was like before him. By Building the stadium he tried to make Arsenal an European Powerhouse and now we are the 5th richest club in the world with a 100 million debt.”
Arsenal Legend Ray Parlour – “Wenger is the best man for Arsenal ‘by a million miles’.”
Today, the game has become a gamble of emotions and not logical thinking. There are so many emotions attached to the game a club plays, emotions attached to winning, emotions attached to losing. I’m not going drown down these emotions. But, Losing is as logical as Winning is.
Is Ivan Gazidis is the right man for the Job? Should we bring in Usmanov?
I’ve some answers for you, Ivan Gazidis single-handedly took MLS to the level it is now. He was offered a job at Manchester City, he turned it down. He came to us. Are we still languishing under the reel of new stadium-no money? No! He has been responsible for bringing in a record sponsorship deal upto £150 million for five years from Emirates.
About Usmanov, here are some links I came across recently, Would I like this person at the Helm of AFC? Certainly Not!
See for yourself.
Come on You Gooners!
I’m an Arsenal Football Club fan, I repeat it Arsenal Football Club fan! But, I like Arsene Wenger. And, I certainly think he is the right man for the job.
In a period were our club is going through such difficult times, the best we can do is give it support. Not boos, not empty stands.
