Class of Mr.Vijay Kumar Malhotra on Hindi Computing

Last class was held on 28/10/2009, and conducted by Mr. Vijay Kumar Malhotra on Hindi Computing.
Sir told us , Languages in the world is divided into two ways:
(1) Latin based languages such as English ,German , Spanish, French
(2) Complex Bit- rest of the languages comes in this category .
he informed us about a computer named MEA used to target the bomb at defined position and told us about American standard code for Artificial Intelligence , which uses 8 bit system.

  • 7 Bit are used to explain 256 characters .
  • 0 Bit is left.
All companies use this system called Uniform Coding System , so that we do not face any problem during E.Mailing, reading any documents etc. because they follow linear system.
Remarkable work is done in this field by IIT Kanpur.
In Bit Complex recursive elements are there for example in urdu language which is written from right to left, chinease from top to bottom , so it became quite complex to assembled these language in coding system.
Roman based languages i.e ST7 use 8 bit system in place of 7 bit.
Indian Standard Code for Information used 8 bit in place of 7 bit .
they used such system of assembling these Latin based and Roman based in such a way that as we use shift system in English based languages and Roman based languages are used with Shift key so they assembled these two in proper way .
He also told us about C-DAC organisation and there contribution in Hindi language development at computer level e.g . development of Shurti lekhan, Mantra graphic package etc.
He inform us that URL which are generally written in English now it can be written in Hindi also.and told us about -before the implementation of Unicode our system were ;
  1. Font dependent
  2. Browser dependent
  3. Keyboard dependent
But after implementation of Unicode all these problems were resolved. and now sorting can be done in Hindi , so that we can directories, index and can make dictionary.
He aware us from Office Hindi 2007 and told us about bhasaindia.com to download IME 2 . he also told us about how we use sorting with this software .
Select Home then go to A to Z then select feild1 , and show us some sites which are very valuable such as
  • shabdkosh.com
  • kavitakosh.com
  • anubhuti.hindi.org
  • abhivyakti.hindi.org
Unicode support all software , all languages and can convert all non Unicode fonts in to Unicode fonts, But window 98 does not support Unicode, now almost all browser support Unicode.
Unicode and Multilingual support
No matter what the platform
No matter what the language.
Indian developed keyboard known by name Indiscript . with Unicode we can find Synonyms of words ,almost all features of Microsoft office 2007 also available in hindi software. He also told us about Open Type Font such as Mangal.
