Our last class was held on 3rd November2009 .

The topic was New Media and Digital Media.

• Media should target audience and target of audience is based on their age, sex and profile.

So once the media is audience targeted weather it is a New Media or Digital Media .

• In New Media we talk about internet i.e www, WAP , which is wireless application protocol , in laymen term it is net on mobile phone, using GPRS.
• GPRS – which is something that enable to data to travel. GPRS having band width, just like a road having certain width and vehicles have to move through these roads,like wise data travel in Band Width

now a days we are using 2.5 G and in certain areas of capital e.g in C.P. AND MANDI HOUSE, MTNL has launched 3G Network Service .

This band width have certain spectrum and which is controlled by Ministry of Defense ,but now a days Ministry of Defense allow it to by certain companies who ensures and fulfill the requirements and criterion of Defense Ministry.

• IN DEGITAL MEDIA T.V. And Radio comes there also concept is same i.e. dissemination of Media but packaging and delivery is different. so presentation is different in New Media.

4.Life style

• New Media and Digital Media differentiates in terms of –

1.Presentation

2.Packaging

Main thing is how the concept is packaged and delivered e.g. now a days Tata introduced a scheme 1 paisa/sec. Call rate , which attract the people but if you think and assimilate properly you will find, the concept is only packaged in new way and delivered it to the market in an effective way.

• In Mobile world, we differentiate low end phone and high end phone i.e having camera in high end phone and GPRS compatibility .

• Then sir inform us with Widget → Widget is any thing that can be embeded with in page of HTML. i.e is web page
• A widget is some content to that page , that is not static , generally widget are originated by third parties, through they can be home made.
• These embeddable chunks of code have existed since the early development of world wide web
• Early web widget provided functions such as links counters and advertising banners.
• Widget may be looked upon as downloadable applications.
• The use of web widgets has been increasingly proposed as a marketing channel that could replace the less effective targeted banner ads. And take advantage of viral distribution in social networks.
