50 CAT exam centres closed today

New Delhi, Nov 29 (PTI) The computer-based Common Admission Test in around 50 centres across the country were today rescheduled to allow necessary repairs to be completed at the labs where technical glitches disrupted the exams on the first day.

Prometric, the American firm which has been entrusted with the task of conducting the tests, said while a significant majority of the candidates successfully completed their exams yesterday, various technical issues arose at selected computers in approximately 50 labs that prevented approximately 2,000 exams from being delivered.

"Prometric technicians have been dispatched to address these isolated problems. To avoid candidate inconvenience and to allow for the necessary repairs to be completed at the impacted labs, Prometric has scheduled a closure of these labs today," an announcement on the CAT-IIM official website said.

With the change of crunch climate,world's very big fast food chain mc donalds has decided to go green at least with its logo, a senior executive said on Monday.German branches of US fast food chain said that ,the famous golden arches will be on a green background, rather than its usual red, McDonalds Germany vice president holger beeck said,The change will be made on all new and refitted restaurants "out of respect for the environment,"

असम में सिरिअल बोम्ब ब्लास्ट

असम की राजधानी गुवाहाटी से 70 किमी दूर स्थित नलबाड़ी इलाके में रविवार सुबह बम तीन धमाके हुए । धमाके इतने जोरदार थे कि इससे पूरा इलाका दहल उठा। सात लोगों की मौत हो गई और ५५ लोग घायल हुए हैं जिनमें 34 की हालत गंभीर बताई जाती है।सूत्रों से मिली जानकारी के तीनों धमाके पुलिस थाने के पास हुए। सुबह सवा दस बजे पहला धमाका हुआ। इस धमाके की आवाज सुनकर आसपास के इलाकों से लोग घटनास्थल तरफ दौड़ पड़े। लेकिन लोगों के इकट्ठा होकर घायलों की मदद करने की कोशिश कर ही रहे थे कि उसी जगह पर दूसरा धमाका और उसके कुछ ही देर बाद तीसरा धमाका भी हुआ जो करीब २० फुट की दुरी पर हुआ । कहा जा रहा है के ये बम साइकिलों पर रखे गए थे।
इस घटना के बाद राज्य में रेड अलर्ट घोषित किया गया। राज्य के मुख्य मंत्री और पुलिस द्वारा इस हमले के लिए अल्फ़ा को जिम्मेदार माना गया है।ऐसा माना जा रहा है अल्फ़ा ने या धमाके अपने दो प्रमुख नेताओं के पकड़े जाने के विरोध में और २७ नवम्बर से पहले असम में दहशत फेलाने के इरादों से किए हैं।
परन्तु अल्फ़ा के कमांडर हीरा सरनिया ने इन हमलों के करवाने का हवाला लेने से इंकार किया है उनके अनुसार

अल्फा और सरकार के बीच शांति प्रक्रिया को आगे बढ़ाने की पहल को नाकाम करने के लिए यह साजिश की गई है।

To attain and maintain lasting peace,what are the avenues that are to be unearthed?If our blood-thirsty and power-thirsty politicians learn to respect the sovereignty of the other countries,the problem finds an easy solution.People all over the world would feel wholeheartedy that the precious wealth of our mother earth is to be directed to ensure a brighter future of the human civilisation and not to the development of deadly weapons.

Fortunatly ,mankind has responded in right earnest. All nations all over the world want PEACE.Organisations like UNO,SAARC,NON-ALIGNED movement are making efforts at the international level but achievement is negligible. In this midst of gloom, Late Mother Teresa with her concern for the poorest of the poor was a self styled ambassador of peace and goodwill. When she took an abandoned crying child in her lap or a helpless orphen under her care,she was not confined by nationality or racial discrimination. It was humanitarian compassion ,which was speaking through her asking for affection and attention. One and all revered her,all over the world but few international leaders seem to be inspired by her simple philosophy of humanity and service to humanity. They all appreciate and applaud her work but few emulate. It's high time we react and work for peace in unison!!!
