Writing for Business Journalism.

23 Oct 2011, Saturday, we had a class on business journalism with Mr. Aman Dhall, a senior correspondent at Economic Times. With the help of a PowerPoint presentation he taught us how to write for Business Journalism.

He taught us How:
  • To deal with numbers in a story.
  • To draw linkage and use comparisons in a corporate society.
  • To use Quotes in a story.
  • What should be the writing structure of the story.
  • Correct use of jargon.
  • Context and Perspective.
  • Colour and Detail.
  • Use of Quotes.
He also taught us that in Business Journalism we should write about PEOPLE. Corporate stories are a lot about people, their strategies etc.

Altogether it was an interesting as well as an enlightening session.
