Cyberstalking is the use of the Internet or other electronic
means to Stalk or harass an individual, a group of individuals, or an
organization. It may include false accusations, monitoring, making threats,
identity theft, damage to data or equipment, the solicitation of minors for
sex, or gathering information in order to harass whereas, Sexual harassment, is
intimidiation, bullying of a sexual nature, or the unwelcome or inappropriate
promise of rewards in exchange for sexual favors. In some circumstances, sexual
harassment is illegal.
Experts says that educating students is the first step
towards preventing Sexual Harassment. Sexual harassment is an important issue
which we can, and hopefully will, deal with successfully as a maturing society.
Sexual harassments can occur in a variety of circumstances.
Often, but not always, the harasser is in a position of power or authority over
the victim (due to differences in age, or social, political, educational or
employment relationships).
Stalking is a continuous process, consisting of a series of
actions, each of which may be entirely legal in itself. Stalking is a form of
mental assault, in which the perpetrator repeatedly, unwantedly, and
disruptively breaks into the life-world of the victim, with whom he has no
relationship (or no longer has), with motives that are directly or indirectly
traceable to the affective sphere. Moreover, the separated acts that make up
the intrusion cannot by themselves cause the mental abuse, but do taken
together.
Either adults or peers may sexually harass youth, although
peer harassment is most common. The school is but one setting in which sexual
harassment occurs. The family, neighbourhood and, now, the Internet are
contexts in which sexual harassment occurs. This perception is coloured by the
sexually charged nature of relationships between girls and boys as they reach
the teen years.
Few of us wont come up with such a serious cause but we all should know the way its ruining our culture and nation.
