One More Day Added to my most Memorable and Cherish Moments
I never thought a day spent with underprivileged children will be so exciting and learning experience for me. I got a chance to peep in their lives, actually miserable life, if a person like me had to experience. But none had great complaints against God, infact they opened my eyes when one of them said,"God had power to make us human, and human has power to be rich or poor,therfore it is the corrupt humankind that does not let us to be rich". Such a great idealogy was definitely not expected but there is a hidden truth that humankind had degraded all the years and inequality is a product of it.
Humanity is under question that where are our ethics, values gone?
This meeting brought tears in my eyes when a girl hesitatingly shared her story in bits with me. A girl who got married when she was 8yrs old stayed with her parents untill she turned 18.But all these years her parent did not educate her ,she does not even know how to write her name. later when she came to her in- laws, she was forced to work in other houses and become an earning source. A miserable life indeed!!!

Atlast Nokia has launched its WINDOWS phone in LONDON ,Nokia world. Nokia claims it to be authentic windows phone 7 though Samsung and HTC are already in the windows phone market from quite a long time.Critics have appreciated LUMIA 800 but beleive that it is beyond I-PHONE 4S and GALAXY NEXUS in terms of desigm and features.Sources believe that nokia will launch some more handsets following the same pattern.
Nokia launched its MEGO OPERATED -N9 in JUNE .Lumia 800 is similar to N9 in most of the aspects apart from the opertaing system. Unlike N9 which has no buttons Lumia 800 is designed with some hard buttons .

23 Oct 2011, Saturday, we had a class on business journalism with Mr. Aman Dhall, a senior correspondent at Economic Times. With the help of a PowerPoint presentation he taught us how to write for Business Journalism.
He taught us How:
- To deal with numbers in a story.
- To draw linkage and use comparisons in a corporate society.
- To use Quotes in a story.
- What should be the writing structure of the story.
- Correct use of jargon.
- Context and Perspective.
- Colour and Detail.
- Use of Quotes.
Altogether it was an interesting as well as an enlightening session.

Report of Class by Mr. Novy Kapadia
He also discussed about the difference between the three i.e. how a reporter must have a good foot work because he has to collect the information, duty of a sub-editor is to check the report and make necessary amendments and a copy-editor is the one who collects information from various agencies and compile a report.
He told us how the newspapers are now made reader friendly by adding graphics and photographs with an eye catchy headline.
It was an interesting class and we look forward to more sessions with him.
End of Qadhafi- Is it a new beginning for Libya?
The uprising that started in February in Libya's Tahrir Square reached its culmination with the horrifying end of its former Dictator Muammar Qadhafi.He was holding the seat of power since the last 42 years.Libya is now under the control of National Transitional Council[NTC] which in itself is a cartel of various groups of differing ideologies.
Although the despotic rule of Qadhafi has finally been eliminated but that does not guarantee the peace in the region.NTC has been supported by North Atlantic Treaty Organization[NATO] and other western nations.It is somewhat similar to what had happened in 1980's during the cold war days.Then in Afghanistan,the anti-communist regime fighting against the Communist inclined Afghan Government was also supported by the USA and its allies.That group later emerged as Taliban and became the biggest threat for USA and subsequently changed all the permutations and combinations of international relations.Right now,NTC has the support of US and its allies.Is it another Taliban in making?The answer can be very anomalous.
Also,the western nations are also eying the rich oil wells of Libya which can be of great help for them during this dwindling time when the US and various other European nations are on the threshold of bankruptcy and are facing the ire of millions of their unemployed and bewildered subjects.This quest of oil in the absence of a strong Central Government can only add to the miseries of the war-torn nation.
Internally too,various lacunaes have been emerged in Libya.Right now the Central Authority in Libya is NTC which in itself is a victim of internal frictions.This can politically destabilise the nation.This political turmoil can hinder the economic growth which will add fuel to the fire.
India too is looking forward for peace in Libya.Prevailing peace in Libya can be of utmost importance as it will ensure the smooth import of Crude Oil to India which will of great relief in this time of galloping inflation.
The Arab insurgency which got started in Tunisia and later spread to other adjoining areas is in a very crucial stage now.Pragmatic approach by the various stakeholders is the demand of the hour.

Several months later, the sensei took the boy to his first tournament. Surprising himself, the boy easily won his first two matches. The third match proved to be more difficult, but after some time, his opponent became impatient and charged; the boy deftly used his one move to win the match. Still amazed by his success, the boy was now in the finals.
Soon after the match resumed, his opponent made a critical mistake: he dropped his guard. Instantly, the boy used his move to pin him. The boy had won the match and the tournament. He was the champion.

Hilarious yet knowledgeable class by Dr. Dilip Kumar
Class became more lively and energetic when Dr. Dilip Kumar took our class on 14october2011. He made the class laugh with his great Sarcasm and taught us about Communication and its various distinctions. He told us about various interesting facts one hardly knows and his great energy made the students listen to him interestingly. He taught us about Bioligical communication and several theories which enhanced our knowledge to another level.

A fun class with Mr. Kang
Mr. Kulwinder Singh Kang is Programme Executive in Prasar Bharti. We had a very mind boggling yet a very interactive and knowledgeble lecture with him. He told us how a radio commentary is quicker than viewing a match on television. He also told us that for being a good commentator we should take care of modulation, knowledge. He also motivated all of us to be a commentator. Looking forward for another interactive session with him.

THE ELEPHANT ROPE
A man was passing a group of elephants. He suddenly stopped, confused by the fact that these huge creatures were being held by only a small rope tied to their front leg. No chains, no cages! It was obvious that the elephants could, at anytime, break away from their bonds but for some reason, they did not.
He saw a trainer nearby and asked why these animals just stood there and made no attempt to get away. “Well,” the trainer said, “when they are very young and much smaller we use the same size rope to tie them and, at that age, it’s enough to hold them. As they grow up, they are conditioned to believe they cannot break away. They believe the rope can still hold them, so they never try to break free.”
The man was amazed. These animals could at any time break free from the bonds but because they believed they couldn’t, they were stuck right where they were.
Like the elephants, how many of us go through life hanging onto a belief that we cannot do something, simply because we failed at it once before?
Failure is part of learning; we should never give up the struggle in life.

Renowned ghazal singer Jagjit Singh passes away
Jagjit Singh was admitted to the Lilavati Hospital on September 23 after he suffered brain haemorrhage in suburban Bandra where a life-saving surgery was performed on him.
Popularly known as "The Ghazal King", he gained acclaim together with his wife in the 1970s and 1980s, as the first ever successful duo act (husband-wife) in the history of recorded Indian music.Recipient of Padma Bhushan award, he has sung in several languages including Hindi, Urdu, Punjabi and Nepali.
Credited with popularising the ghazal genre and making it accessible to the masses, Singh cut more than 40 private albums and sang for innumerable Bollywood films, influencing an entire generation of music lovers. Stirring millions of hearts with his soulful numbers 'Jhuki jhuki si nazar' and 'Kaagaz ki kashti', ghazal king Jagit Singh infused a new life in the dying genre of music in the seventies and carved a niche for himself in Bollywood. His popular ghazals include, Meri zindagi kisi aur ki, mere naam ka koi aur hai, Apni marzi se kahan apne safar ke hum hain, Wo jo hum mein tumme qaraar tha, Patta-patta boota-boota haal hamaara jaane hai, Hoshwalo ko khabar, etc.
The pain and melancholy in his voice gave vent to the feelings of many a lonely heart. One of the most successful and loved artistes of his time, he has left behind a huge body of work in a career spanning five decades, including 80 albums. Bollywood's loss was ghazal's gain, as Jagjit's fresh voice infused a new life into the dying genre, which was confined to select admirers.

R.I.P. Steve Jobs
Artist, role model, innovator, life-changer. Those words popped up repeatedly on Wednesday in the outpouring of emotional responses to the death of Steve Jobs. He was a visionary co-founder of Apple who helped usher in the era of personal computers and then led a cultural transformation in the way music, movies and mobile communications were experienced in the digital age, died Wednesday. He was 56.
Jobs died of complications from pancreatic cancer, with which he waged a long and public struggle, remaining the face of the company even as he underwent treatment. He continued to introduce new products for a global market in his trademark blue jeans even as he grew gaunt and frail.
He underwent surgery in 2004, received a liver transplant in 2009 and took three medical leaves of absence as Apple’s chief executive before stepping down in August and turning over the helm to Timothy D. Cook, the chief operating officer. When he left, he was still engaged in the company’s affairs, negotiating with another Silicon Valley executive only weeks earlier.
By then, having mastered digital technology and capitalized on his intuitive marketing sense, Mr. Jobs had largely come to define the personal computer industry and an array of digital consumer and entertainment businesses centered on the Internet. He had also become a very rich man, worth an estimated $8.3 billion.
Mr. Jobs was neither a hardware engineer nor a software programmer, nor did he think of himself as a manager. He considered himself a technology leader, choosing the best people possible, encouraging and prodding them, and making the final call on product design.
