Education is the foundation stone of socity.(original)

Women constitute roughly half of the world's population but their social, economic and political status is lower then that of men in almost all the parts of India. The role of women changes from time to time depending upon the economic condition and political structure of society.
In vedic period, the cultural and social status of women was high. They were allowed to gain any knowledge and take part in religious and philosophical discussions.
But in Mughal period the position of women became worse. They were not allowed to take part in
any activity. They were also not allowed to take education. They were considered a burden on society.
Later on, many reformers gave importance to women's education. They opened many schools and colleges for the promotion of women eduction.Due to the works of these reformers the situation improved only to a little extent. Opportunities for formal education were denied to women. There used to be open criticism and opposition to girl education in the past.
Now-a days, the situation is changing. women education is becoming the most important aspect of mordern education.Kerala, has highest women literacy rate. but the overall women literacy rate in India is very low.
one of the major causes for the slow progress of women's education is lack of proper social in the rural and backward areas for the education of girls. Education is concidered as an investment and this investment is to be done on male child in the backward areas. The other major cause is the economic backwardnes of the rural community i.e. the girls are very helpful in performing household work as well as they earn some money for the family. The other cause is the lack of women teachers i.e.,in schools and colleges there are few women teachers and therefore their parents do not allow them to study.
Women education is very important for development of our society bcoz if women is educated ,she will educate the whole family. Thus ,this should be given high priority. The goverment has recognised the whole importance of women education that is has been included in the national list. the discussion is going on to make a fundamental right.....
