Class by Mr. Ashish Kumar
Ashish Kumar sir
On 6th and 7 th December we had the most beneficiary and interactive class by Ashish sir. He taught us about ‘DEVELOPMENT JOURNALISM’. It may be the new word for many of us and it’s also known as “DYING BABY JOURNALISM”
Development Journalism-every developing country faces many challenges like poverty, hunger and to write on these issues is development journalism.
We rarely can see the development news because of the following challenges:-
  • ·         Middle class group don’t want to know about the aadivaasis, dalit.
  • ·         No newspaper or magazine wants to take these news..

Something for journalist:
  • ·         You have to be authentic.
  • ·         Facts are never wrong
  • ·         No factual mistakes should be done by a reporter.

He gave us information about Vidarbh, Kaala Handi, criminal tribes. The things which need the real attention from media, for their development. He made us clear about the various things like how the words can change the whole meaning.
For eg death because of malnutrition and death because of hunger, poverty are two different things. Death because of malnutrition is no one’s fault, it’s a disease but death because of hunger and poverty attacks the government authority, it’s a crime for which we all our responsible.
Similarly cold is same for all and death because of cold is not a heading for death because of poverty, less clothes or abhaav.

P Sainath and sir himself are two good names of development journalist.
