Amitabh Bachchan was born on October 11, 1942, in Allahabad, Uttar Pradesh. Harivanshrai Bachchan had planned to name his firstborn 'Inquilab' (which means 'revolution') before choosing Amitabh ("brilliance unlimited").
Amitabh, the kid, dreamt of becoming an engineer. He even thought of joining the Indian Air Force.
Before debuting in Bollywood, Amitabh worked as a stage actor, radio announcer and freight company executive in Kolkata, India.
During the shoot of ‘Khuda Gawah’ (1992), the then president of Afghanistan, Najibullah, provided Amitabh with half the country's air force (“for his protection”); ‘Khuda Gawah’ became a rage in Afghanistan.
