Class Report: 30th October, 2012

Me. Aatish Parashar's Class:
Yet another informative class with Mr. Aatish Parashar was held on 30th October, 2012.We had an extensive study about the format of interviews and the documentation facilities. He told us about the importance of keeping records and the "Archives". He told us about the ideology behind archives and also about the techniques involved. talking about program formats, he focused about interviews and it's various genres.
Interview - as the name suggests - is made of two words, Inter+Views. It's the recording of views of people on specific issues. The alternative genres of interviews are "Walkspop" and "Bites". Bites are all about a specific question asked to a pre-assigned person.
The important components of Interviews are:-
1) Objectives
2) Backgrounding
3) Structuring of Questions
4) 'Lisening' - Motivating the Speaker
5) Acclaimation
6) Etiquettes
He recommended a book as well, namely "Professional Journalism" by Professor M.V. Kamat. He conducted an activity as well about interviewing a celebrity.
