Are we heading towards End?

Global warming, which is a graduate increase in planet wide temperatures is now well documented and accepted by scientists as a fact. This warming is largely attributed to the increase of greenhouse gases(primarily Carbon dioxide and Methane) in the earth’s upper atmosphere caused by human burning of fossil fuels, industrial, farming and deforestation.

It has been found out that carbon dioxide is 30% higher higher than anytime in 6,50,000 years. Methane is 130% higher than anytime in 6,50,000 years. carbon dioxide emission is rising 200 times faster than anytime in this period. US scientists say that in the last 150 years, sea level have been rising twice as fast as in previous centuries. Average global temperature may increases by 1.4-5.8°c by the end of the 21st century.

This temperature rise can trigger significant changes in the climate. Warmer ocean water may result in more intense and frequent tropical storms and hurricanes.

The famous Indian rivers, the ganges is beginning to run dry because the glacier from which the river get itys water is shrinking at a rate of 34 metres a year, twice as fast as two decades ago. It is estimated that the glacier could disappear by 2030. This may result in the rise of the sea level by 0.09-0.88m in the next century, mainly from melting glacies and expanding sea water, Global warming may also affect wildlife and species that cannot survive in warmer environment so they may become extinct. Finally, human health is also at stake, as global warming may result in the spreading of certain diseases such as malaria, the flooding of major cities, a greater risk of heat stroke for individuals and poor air quality.

Just one question in the End.

ARE WE HEADING TOWARDS OUR END?
