5. Chak De! India :
The only Bollywood movie in the countdown has to be the Shahrukh Khan starrer. Focused on the sporting culture in India, this movie helped in resurrection of sports. Great Movie, no doubt, but should have been narrated in a better way.
4. The Longest Yard:
Don't compare today's comedy version of "The Longest Yard" to the old with Burt Reynolds. Today's is good and effective for what it is, a comedy film with a bit of action interlaced. So many classic Hollywood films were so good, that any attempt at a remake is just going to fall flat on its face. The Longest Yard with Adam Sandler is more of today's take on the story if you asked me. It has humor, and is Sandler at his best with Chris Rock playing his role well too. Critics and classic moviegoers beware. Unless you are open-minded, you will never find the hidden treasures of the movie world. It's a football comedy, plain and simple.
3. The Damned United:
The Best movie on football, ever. Based on true life events of a legendary Manager Brian Clough, this movie takes you through his struggles and achievements. Mark it down, and make sure to watch it.
2. Rocky Series:
Rocky Balboa, remember the name. The whole series is bloody brilliant. Great storyline, epic characters, and great emotions. This movie isnt just about the sport, it's about life. If you haven't seen this movie yet, you're missing out on life.
1. Miracle:
"Dream On!". Based on the true incident of Winter Olympics, the movie takes you through a journey of incidents when the USA Ice Hockey team did the unthinkable at that time, they beat USSR. This movie fills so much of adrenaline in you that after the final whistle in the match, you will be overwhelmed by the sheer emotions it leaves in you.
Honorary Mention: Remember the Titans, Hip Hip Hurray, United.
