Broadcasting - 

Signals are information which are distributed by satellites in the form of either digital waves (which are lighter i.e have a small file size)  or in the form of analog waves (which are heavier i.e have a bigger file .  As a broadcaster one has to add value to it's output which can be through better graphics, analyzing, commentary so that the viewership is higher which eventually leads to higher advertisement rates.
