A bubble called world.

Whose world is it anyway?

The world of colors, the world which is black.

The depth of life, as deep as death.

Does it belong to the doves fighting for the olive branch?

Or is it of the resting truth, hidden in the winter shed.

World of demands; labeled as needs,

World of dreams; dream which sleeps,

World of my god; my faith, my creeds,

World of cries; tears that no one sweeps.

World of the rich or the world of fickle swarm?

World of Marx’s idea or world of Gandhi’s calm?

World of hunger or the world of falling array?

Or is it of the glowing shelter; the glow of an ash tray?

The world of possessions; the world with boundaries.

Division of territory, divide in the eerie breeze.

The world of poets; world of his conflicting expression,

World of my smile, smile that is an exception.

Or is it of our constant friendship that was crucified.

Or is it of the mother’s emotion; emotions that dried.

Or is it of the passion to win; to own, to kill,

or does it belong to my religion; a received devil.

Wants the world, owns nobody.

Demands the world, owns nobody.

Dreams a Hindu, aspires a Muslim,

Brothers in crime, executes nobody.

Plans a Sikh, seeks a Christian,

Brothers in crime, executes nobody.

Lost we may be, signage are incessant,

Roads may have ended, skies are persistent.

Let’s be the light let’s be the love,

Let’s end the fight, let’s be the dove.

Let’s share the sorrow, let’s abet,

Let’s bring peace,

Let’s be the opening cresset…

Thank you.

peace.

We are ready to welcome all

So what do you say now?? Do you still think India can't organize commonwealth games??
Criticizing the flaws is too easy, but appreciating the efforts is comparatively difficult. If u  cannot do anything u are no one to criticize as well..

Unsecular thoughts..

How much secular we are? The way Ayodhya verdict is being talked about and is being awaited by the population of our country doesn't reflect the so called "curiosity " but it reflects how our secular minds are working. I don't feel like watching television at this time (4:30) all the news channels are claiming to telecast the TRUTH. What truth they can show?

The truth is that our minds are not secular in any way. The way we are waiting for this verdict, shows just one thing that it really bothers us that whether the land which is suppose to named after A God, either belongs to Muslims or Hindus. Our reactions before the verdict itself shows our maturity and secular minds. The scene which is flashing everywhere on our televisions shows smiling judges who have become the stars and the curious media which is not allowing our poor judges to speak. I am not interested to see what the Verdict has to offer but I am keen to know that even after appealing for calm how calm our Indians would remain and mainly the political parties who have started mobilizing over the verdict.

PLEASE JUST DON'T GET BOTHERED BY THE VERDICT.

60 years for a 60x40 piece of land

Majesty of the Law
The longest-running legal battle in India is a dispute over the 60 ft by 40 ft land in Ayodhya where the Babri Masjid stood till December 6, 1992. Since 1950, five title suits have been in the Allahabad high court, staking claim to the title of the plot of land of the Babri Masjid. Of these, four are to be decided by the Lucknow bench of the high court.

I feel that leaders of all communities, political parties and social groups should start planning to meet the situation because the matter requires the involvement of people at the grassroots level and it does not brook any delay.
The high court verdict will not necessarily settle the issue. Either side could go to the Supreme Court. It is only the first step in the judicial process. Even otherwise, matters of faith are not legally determined.
We have heard in loud voices words like lawful, constitutional and democratic. Analysts agree that the idiom and the paradigm used by either section of the leadership in the late '80s and early '90s to spread their victimhood can no longer serve them. The issue is no longer as inflammable for the youth, from all sections, who say preventing fresh unrest is more important.
Aspirations and hopes of the new generation have changed dramatically from the '90s to 2010. The youth of today are concerned more with bread-and-butter issues than rabble-rousing rhetoric. In these circumstances, the broad-based hope for a mature reaction to the Babri verdict is expedited.

Class Report

24th Sept,2010

We had a chance to listen to very self-made man Mr.Gurminder Mattu. He was a speaker who spoke from his heart and his each word was inspirational. He gave us the motivation about how we can become everything from nothing. He told us really shocking but true facts about Common Wealth Games. He brought in front of us the value of principles.
We were greatful to Smita mam for giving us an opportunity to have him in our class.

The second speaker for the class was Smita mam herself. She continued with news writing and we learnt the basic format of news writing i.e. from headline to body. As this is very crucial for a journalist so indeed it was for us.

The third speaker was Mr. Atish Parasher from IP university. It was very disappointing from him to know that nobody did his assignment but he continued speaking about web designing. He told that a website should have high navigational friendliness and content should be easily understandable.

All in all the class was very informative with three speakers talking to us.

Jamia student beaten to death outside campus

Today's crime file begins with the murder of a 19-year-old Jamia Millia Islamia student in Delhi. In another incident, police arrest three persons who allegedly gangraped a minor dalit girl and filmed the incident on a cellphone. Read on.

19-year-old student beaten to death

New Delhi: A first-year student of Bachelor in Fine Arts at the Jamia Millia Islamia was beaten to death by four youths outside the university on Tuesday afternoon as scores of people looked on.

At 2.30 pm, Shahrukh Shaheer (19) was attending class when he was called on his mobile by one Sahil, said the police. "As soon as he stepped outside the campus, they caught hold of Shahrukh and thrashed him. One of them was wearing metal knuckle dusters, with which he hit him on his head," said Farhan, a student who tried to save Shahrukh. But the accused beat up Farhan too.

Shahrukh was declared brought dead by doctors at the nearby Holy Family Hospital after which his body was shifted to AIIMS for postmortem.

"The exact motive behind the crime is not known, but the accused were also students of the university and had been rusticated recently. We are working on some leads and have identified some of them," said S K Jain, Additional DCP (South East).

Official sources said there was some enmity between the accused and Shahrukh over personal issues.
But Jamia's media coordinator Simi Malhotra said she did not know about any student being rusticated in the past week. "The incident happened outside the university. The police have not informed us about any students being involved," she added.

"Nobody tried to save my son. I was informed by a faculty member that my son died after he was beaten up by some boys," said Shahrukh's father Shaheer.

Shaheer is a teacher in Jamia School and the family stays at the Jamia teachers' hostel.
Shahrukh's grandfather was an English professor in the university, while his younger brother Aadil also studies in Jamia.

Shaheer said, "I am not aware of Shahrukh having a problem with anyone in the university. He looked cheerful this morning." His friends, who gathered outside the house, were in shock. Neighbourhood friend Zia said, "Only Farhan tried to stop those boys, but he was also beaten up." The university has been closed till Thursday and will now reopen only on October 15 as it is shut for the Games from Friday.

God's wish...

Okay. And it all began with how it happens and the answers we didn’t have were called God.

The natural phenomena which gave us light and life were called God but it came into true existence when the natural forces causing havoc were considered as God’s punishment. The true existence of God is in the fear of being punished for not accepting it as supreme.

And fear is a strong emotion

It’s the fear that drives us today.

It’s not faith; it’s the fear of consequence for not having faith.

When do you generally pray to God??

It’s when you have fear of something, some situation.

It’s when you want god to take you out of that situation.

It’s the fear of failing in the exam that is the foundation of our faith.

Or the fear of losing someone that forces us to believe in the so called supreme power.

It may sound very pessimistic and I am really sorry for it.

I was never against something which could have had serene effects on mankind,

A creation which could have been used to spread love and peace.

But that is truly not the scenario, is it?

Because like ‘fear’, ‘greed’ is another strong emotion and is responsible for probably the best use of human fear.

Fear was exploited and ‘God’ was used…

Instead of spreading love, it became a reason to split.

Instead of creating ‘we’, it created ‘you’ and ‘me’.

Please don’t get me wrong here- I am not against anything, I am just in favor of something i.e. mankind.

I don’t ask you to lose faith in God, I just ask you to place mankind above it.

For all the believers- may be that’s what he always wanted.

The opinion here is completely mine and I am really sorry if I have hurt someone’s religious sentiments.

I don't know if God exists, but it would be better for His reputation if He didn't.

-Jules Renard.

Thank you.

Peace.

Newspaper Article Writing: Four Steps For Effective Writing - Manvi

As a student of web journalism, it is important to know how to write news articles which are not just informative but attractive as well. It is to ensure that your readers get good reading experience.

Here are few steps to write news articles:

1. Learn from the professionals: You should make it a routine to read newspapers or go through news websites daily. This would really help you to learn how news articles are written and what factors make them attention grabbing. Try to take advice or know trade secrets from professionals. This would really help you.

2. Choice of topic: Choose only that topic which is newsworthy, like you can write about any latest news in national and international arena. Entertainment, sports, crime are some of the topics you can choose depending upon your areas of interest and expertise.

3. Catchy headlines: You should remember that the readers have many options in front of them to read. There will be many other articles along with your article on the same page. To make your article outshine, you would have to use attention grabbing headline for it. Make sure the headline of your article provides answers for 4 W’s which stands for what, when, where and who, this will let your readers know what the story is about.

4. Inverted pyramid technique: This technique basically refers to decreasing newsworthy value in every following paragraph. It is really important for news article writing as the audience are usually pressed for time, the readers can close your articles anytime. Therefore, it is important that you provide them juiciest information first. This way, you would be able to provide them important information even if they close the article too soon. The inverted pyramid technique also helps in promoting further reading.

Old Delhi

Old Delhi

Old Delhi was once known as the city of Shahjahanabad. Shah Jahan established Kashmiri Gate Old Delhiit and made it his capital. This fortified city has a long and interesting history and even today, the remains of its glorious past can be seen in the form of Kashmiri Gate, Ajmeri Gate, Turkman Gate, Delhi Gate and Feroz Shah Kotla. The ever-increasing population in this area has resulted in extremely dense housing overlapping the small industries and commercial activities in the region. Purani Dilli, the capital of Muslim India, from 17th to 19th century houses a number of forts, monuments and mosques.

Chandni Chowk, Red Fort and Jama Masjid, the largest mosque in India, are also a part of Old Delhi. The prime attractions of Old Delhi include Kashmiri Gate, which was witness to the desperate fighting where mutineers of 1857 were crushed by the British with an iron hand. Then, there is the British-erected Mutiny Memorial, the Ashoka pillar brought here by Feroz Shah Tughlaq, Digambar Jain Mandir, Sunehri and Fatehpur Masjid, the ruins of the city of Feroz Shah Kotla, erected by Feroz Shah Tughlaq in 1354, and Raj Ghat.

Today, Purani Dilli is a labyrinth of tiny lanes lined, with the remnants of 17th century havelis (mansions), inhabited by a predominantly Muslim population. Yet other attractions of Old Delhi include Zinat-ul Masjid in Daryaganj, which is also known as Cloud Mosque and was built in 1710 by one of Aurangzeb's daughters. Then, there is the Gandhi Memorial Museum and the St. James Church, the oldest church of Delhi built by Col. James Skinner, who was the son of a Scotsman and his Rajput wife.
